Kayl rolls over..

So Kayl will be 5 months old tomorrow, and has been rolling over for a while now, but it has gotten to the point of him never wanting to be on his back. The only problem is, he will roll onto his tummy, and then get stuck that way.

Monkey see...Monkey do

Elijah goes to school (Part One)

So, with my parents off to Mexico we had little choice but to look for other alternatives in childcare. Nothing, and I repeat nothing, takes the place of the time the boys spend with their Papa and GG. They are loved and played with all day, bathed and "pajamad" and ready to go when I go pick them up... That being said, I did a lot of driving to different daycares, home daycares and came up empty handed. One lady seemed really nice on the phone, then when I walked in her house, first off all I could smell was smoke, and secondly, out of all the stories that she could have told me, she chose this one...."I used to watch this one 3 year old little boy..his dad was in prison...I think he was a crack baby...he used to scream and lay in the driveway when his mom would drop him off...I knew he was deathly afraid of flyswatters so all I had to do was wave that around when he wouldn't come inside and he would come flying in..." Nice. Thanks but no thanks. Anyways, long story somewhat short (I am my mother's daughter :) ) We found a wonderful daycare/preschool right by our house, where Elijah will be going Mon, Wed and Fri. This helps a lot, as Joel and his mom Pixie only have to watch Kayl two days a week. So.... without further adeau...Elijah's first day of "school."

This is a video I have titled "I don't know if mommy is ready."

Elijah Goes to school (part two)

I really thought that he would have a hard time with me leaving, but he just jumped right in and started playing with the other kids.

I love the little boy on the left...he is just checking Elijah out.

This is the classroom for 2-2 1/2 year olds.

They already had a little cubby for Elijah to put his things. I was most worried about naptime so they said to bring some things from home, hence his "bown bear" and his "lellow blankie." They said he cried for about 20 seconds and then fell right asleep.

Will he remember...

times like this where his daddy did the coolest thing in the world to a two-year-old.....took him to the park, at night (when he should be going to bed), to use their flashlights and slide down the "bumpy side." I hope he does.

You'd better get warm because it's "told" outside.

Good Enough

So I have had in my mind for the past month or so that I was going to take my boys to the park and get the perfect picture of the two of them....both looking directly at the camera...smiles on their faces. I don't know who I was kidding, other than myself:) They were both completely uncooperative (more particularly my soon to be two-year-old, ahem) But I really like these ones of Elijah, going from normal to big smile...I love him so much. And Kayl always has his tongue sticking out, so the one of him is a perfect representation of him at the moment.
